Vomit
- Rubbing alcohol works best for any vomit stains and smell. Use liberally on a cloth until the stain is gone. It dries quickly and should not discolor your carpet. And it's cheap!

Urine
- Use a deep steam cleaner (Big Green Clean Machine) with some white vinegar in the water, repeatedly. Sprinkle-on carpet deodorizer or scent powders to get rid of the smell.

Coffee / Soda Spills
- Use unscented shaving cream! We thought it was crazy, but my wife tried it (using all of my shaving cream), and made me buy two more cans. The stuff works great!

Gum Removal
- First freeze the gum with ice cubes and pick out what you can. Then dab it with a cloth moistened with citrus cleaner like De-solv-it or Orange Clean to remove what's left. Rinse the citrus cleaner with water and blot up the water by stomping on a clean towel.
